This course is designed to give the participants insights on radiographic techniques to assist them acquiring diagnostically valuable radiographs. Definition of techniques used in dental radiology and the background science as well as describing the purpose of each technique will be presented. We will explain the challenges in dental radiography and ways to properly handling these challenges. This course is designed to simplify the complex concepts of radiography, while stimulating the participants' critical thinking. After taking this course the participants will understand the science behind the way radiography is performed which will encourage them to follow the guidelines provided to them. Easy ways of radiation protection are also presented to guaranty safety of both the operators and the patients. In this course we will present essential principles of radiation and technical skills that can be used for the safe and effective use of radiation in any dental office.
